Girder Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 26, 2026
Girder is an estimating and job-costing tool for small fabrication and trade shops. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with your information.
What we collect
Nothing. Girder does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. There is no account, no sign-in, and no server of ours. We use no analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
Every quote, job, customer name, price and hour you enter is stored on your device and, if you are signed in to iCloud, in your own private iCloud database so the same records appear on your other devices. That copy is held by Apple under your Apple Account, governed by Apple’s privacy policy. We cannot see it, and neither can anyone else. Turn off iCloud for Girder in your device settings and it stays on the device alone.
Your prices and your margins are commercially sensitive. The safest place for them is your own phone, so that is the only place they go.
Your customers' details
If you type a customer name onto a job, that name is stored with the rest of the job — on your device, and in your own iCloud if that is switched on. It is never sent to us or to anyone else. Girder never contacts anybody on your behalf: when you email a quote, the app opens Apple’s own mail composer with the message filled in, and nothing is sent until you tap Send.
Subscriptions
Girder Pro is an auto-renewing subscription processed entirely by the Apple App Store. Girder never sees or stores your payment details. We receive no information about you from Apple beyond whether this device holds an active subscription.
Files you create
Quotes are rendered as PDFs and order lists as plain text, on your device. They are shared only when you choose to share them, to whoever you choose. We never receive a copy.
Deleting your data
Deleting the app removes everything held on the device. If iCloud sync was switched on, your copy remains in your own iCloud until you delete it there — Settings › your name › iCloud › Manage Account Storage. There is nothing on our side to delete, because there was never anything there.
Children's privacy
Girder is a business tool, is not directed to children under 13, and does not knowingly collect any data from them.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date. Since the app collects nothing, any change is likely to be a clarification rather than a new practice.
