ZuzuKids — Support

Preschool learning for children aged about 3 to 7. Colours, shapes, numbers and animals, and reading and writing in eleven languages — each with its own alphabet, taught in the order that language is actually taught.

The parent gate

There is no preset PIN. The first time you open ZuzuKids it asks you to choose a 4- or 6-digit PIN and to type it a second time to confirm. That PIN then opens the parent area, the settings and the subscription screen.

Choose something your child does not know. Not their birthday, not 1234. The gate is the only thing standing between a four-year-old and a purchase.

Face ID or Touch ID can be used as a shortcut once a PIN exists, never instead of one — on a family iPad the enrolled face is sometimes the child’s.

Common questions

I forgot the parent PIN.
Tap Forgot your PIN? on the gate and confirm with the device passcode or biometrics. That clears the PIN so you can choose a new one; profiles, progress and badges are untouched. Note that this means anyone who knows the device passcode can reset the gate, so keep that passcode away from the child.

Why does it ask for the PIN twice in a row sometimes?
The gate on launch and the gate in front of the parent area are separate on purpose. Getting a child into the app should not also open the settings and the subscription screen.

How do I change the language?
The globe button at the top of the child’s home screen. Each language has its own reading track, so switching to Russian does not carry over progress in the Latin alphabet — they are genuinely different alphabets and are counted separately.

What is free?
The first level of Colours, and the complete alphabet in every one of the eleven languages. Half an alphabet spells nothing, so the whole of it is free to learn. Locked lessons keep their colour and carry a crown rather than being hidden.

What does the subscription add?
Every remaining lesson: 24 colours, 20 shapes, numbers to 1000, 100 animals, and the syllables and words that follow the alphabet in each language — 840 lessons in all. It is offered weekly or monthly; the price for your country is shown on the subscription screen, which is behind the parent gate.

I subscribed but the lessons are still locked.
Open the subscription screen and tap Restore purchases, using the same Apple Account the subscription was bought with.

How do I cancel?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not by us: open the Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions. Cancelling at least 24 hours before the period ends stops the next charge. Deleting the app does not cancel it.

Can two children share one iPad?
Yes. Add a profile per child in the parent area. Progress, stars, streaks and the badge shelf are separate for each; only the subscription is shared.

Can I limit how long they play?
Yes, per child, in the parent area under daily time. You can also grant extra time for one day without changing the limit.

Does it work without internet?
Completely. All 840 lessons ship inside the app.

Where is my child’s data?
On the device, and in your own iCloud if that is switched on. There is no account, no server of ours, and nothing is collected. See the Privacy Policy.

ZuzuKids is a practice tool, not an assessment. Progress inside the app is not a measure of a child’s ability. Narration uses the device’s own speech synthesiser and is a guide alongside an adult’s voice, not a replacement for one.
